            Bayou Teche Water Works would like to inform all of its members/customers that on Monday, July 23, 2018, work will commence on the drilling of Water Well Number 7.  Bayou Teche Water Works has entered into a $272,000.00 contract with M.E. Amy Drilling for this capital improvement project. This new well is a replacement for Water Well Number 4, which is 25 years old and has served its useful life and is beyond repair.  

            The new well will be capable of producing a minimum of 500 gallons per minute, which is approximately one third of the capacity of the plant. Once this well is completed, it will complement four other active wells that the water system uses for raw water supply. The well will provide redundancy, as well as flexibility, in operation and allow for proper maintenance of all the wells in service. 

            Bayou Teche Water Works anticipates that the well will be in service in early Fall, after all required water tests and pumping tests are completed.
